“Go Greta” - Sunstroke Rain

Sunstroke Rain will soon be a Swedish staple (if I could have it my way.) Their unique sound pulls listeners into an electronic-disco trance with lyrics to compliment, not overpower. The group is led by frontwoman Karin Turesson and backed by Olivia Lyne and Lisa Frisk. Sunstroke Rain is Turesson’s personal project after working with artists like Nina Persson and Robyn. 

To me, “Go Greta” is the Swedish, electronic version of SZA’s “Go Gina,” but maybe it's just the alliteration that creates the correlation. Nonetheless, Sunstroke Rain’s latest single is a vibey reminder to stay true to yourself. The hook rings “don’t let bad people influence you,” possibly a hint at influencer culture that plagues humans at the moment. This song is a strong contender for your wake up anthem playlists and is sure to set your mind right and get you moving and grooving first thing in the morning. 

Sunstroke Rain have been slowly releasing singles, with a possible album in the near future. While they’re still fairly new, they fit the bill of “up and coming” with a promising musical career.
